Whistler Avalanche Courses - Avalanche Skills Training Level 2

The natural progression of the AST 1 for skiers and boarders looking for a course to build a solid foundation for safe winter travel in the mountains. There is emphasis on snow profile interpretation and recording, terrain rating, route selection and advance companion rescue.

Prerequisites: Avalanche Skills Training Level 1

Cost: $ 595per person + tax % | Discounts available for group bookings of 4 or more.

Includes: CAA field book, avaluator, online resources and completion certificate.

Details: The course schedule is as follows:

* Day 1: 8am - 5pm (theory & field)  Classroom in Whistler with short field session
* Day 2: 8am - 5pm (field & theory) Backcountry Whistler/Blackcomb
* Day 3: 8am - 5pm (field & theory) Backcountry Whistler/Blackcomb
* Day 4: 8am - 5pm (field & debrief) Backcountry Duffey Lake Road

Participants must pick up their rental equipment before the course begins. Participants are to provide their own food and water for the course days. Backcountry and avalanche equipment rental available at preferred rate. Backcountry lifts pass available.

Cancellations and changes to bookings must be made in writing (email, fax, mail) or by phone to Coast Mountain Guides and are not considered canceled until acknowledged by return email or phone call by Coast Mountain Guides. You can cancel for a 100% refund with 24 hrs notice for any reason. Cancellations made 24 hours or less to program start will result in forfeiture of the full amount. We highly suggest that you purchase trip cancellation and travel medical insurance to avoid penalties related to a change in plans or injury.
