Rock Climbing Level 2 – Lead Climbing

Lead climbing with traditional gear protection or using established sport climbing infrastructure are ways of  scaling rock faces.  Using correctly the equipment, systems and new technologies can be practiced in a safe environment.

Learning Outcome: 

  • Hands on practice and instruction on how to build sport and trad anchors
  • How to place cams, nuts, hexes and other types of rock fall protections.
  • How to clip bolts
  • Learn about the science of building strong and redundant anchors and climbing systems with a focus on lead climbing strategies.

Prerequisites: Good fitness

Meet at Squamish Adventure Centre parking lot

Afternoon: 4.00pm

Gear

Good hiking and climbing shoes required
Harness and helmet provided if needed
